Undergraduate Students
Southern Alabama AHEC is committed to expanding the health care workforce, maximizing diversity and facilitating distribution, especially in underserved communities. We offer support services for students in pre-professional college and university programs. We introduce students to a wide assortment of health career possibilities and guide them in goal setting and educational planning. Working with colleges, universities, and community partners, SAAHEC target economically disadvantaged students and those from underrepresented minority groups.

NHSC and Nurse Corps
The SAAHEC staff serve as Ambassadors for NHSC and Nurse Corps. The programs provide scholarships and loan repayment opportunites to healthcare career students in exchange for serving in rural areas. Click here for more information.
